Hi I'm Teresa. Welcome to my happy place. I’m a mixed media artist from Yorkshire, England. I create because it brings me great peace and joy. My goal is to spread that joy, whether that be through my own art or by helping others to be brave and jump into creativity. Happy is good, so come join me.
My Inspiration
My creative process is fed by a love of nature and travel and I enjoy exploring new places and cultures. I visit botanical gardens and sit in nature wherever I go. With a camera around my neck and a sketchbook in my pocket I set off to capture inspiration and I return to my studio to try and evoke the feeling or mood I experienced. My goal has always been to create images and patterns that are joyful.
I believe art is a way we express ourselves and make our spaces reflect who we are and what we consider beautiful. Inevitably parts of my life get weaved into each piece, making the creative process and end results very personal and meaningful to me.
My Philosophy
Is keep moving forward. No matter how small the steps I take, every tiny step forward is a step closer to my environmental principles and creative dreams. In 2019 I received a scholarship that refocused my life. I was able to really concentrate on making a long-held dream of becoming a professional artist and creator. After the course ended, I began taking one step every day. One positive step no matter how small. Not all of it was fun, and I often felt overwhelmed by the task ahead. All I could do was begin and then take a step forward every day and I will be for the rest of my life.
The truth is it’s not at all glamorous. So, I promised myself that’s what I would show the world, “the truth” of the journey. The mistakes, wrong decisions, along with the good. I learn from it all and take another step forward the next day. Whether that be finding a more environmentally sustainable product, learning a new technique, or improving my skill set. I hope sharing the journey helps you achieve your goals.
